Back in 1964, creator and cartoonist Al Capp devised a contest for readers to submit drawings of a character who up until then, never showed his face in the strip. I sent something in, and several months later, on a Sunday morning, opened up the newspaper to see my name and my drawing reproduced there as a possibility for what that character might look like. What a thrill THAT was!!!

It was only this past week that I learned the scatological meaning or definition of who and what the origin of the name "Roger the Lodger" was. Sheeeesh!
