The Watergate Tapes
The Nixon White House used several Sony TC-800B portable
reel-to-reel tape recorders and concealed microphones to record
conversations in the Oval Office and other locations. These
tapes,
with poor audio quality due to the use of a tape speed of 15/16 ips,
came to light during the investigation of the Watergate breakin.
