My dad liked this. Personally, I couldn't stand it. Same with marzipan.

It never occurred to me that some people don't like Halvah, not that I've ever done a survey. Birds like it, I suppose because of the sesame content.

Allan Sherman used the only Halvah simile I know of in his "Streets of Miami" in which he shot and Sam crumbled "just like a piece Halvah." There is a copy of the album cover--My Son the Folk Singer--on this site.

I like marzipan and I know some people don't.

I remember having Halvah once. I immediately spit it out, yuck, never again.
