Every candy store I ever went to in the Bronx used Fox's U-Bet syrup. Guess they bought a franchise of some sort.

Although she sometimes used "Bosco" or "Coco Marsh"
for my Egg Creams..my grandma would use Fox' U-Bet
Chocolate syrup to mix my egg cream sodas.

Only way to make an egg cream,

Equal parts OF, in this order:

Fox's U Bet chocolate syrup or Fox's vanilla syrup, which is used to make vanilla egg creams, Syrup NO SUBSTITUTES use only Fox's.

Seltzer, not that crap in the plastic bottles. REAL seltzer from a bottle with a trigger dispenser on top. Or a real soda fountain

Milk.

Note a passable sneaky substitute is Pepsi, NEVER COKE, and Milk 1/2 & 1/2. But you did not here that from me. Fools even the purists

Extremely sweet. I think this is the type of syrup they needed to make egg creams. Never had one of those...
