I remember Florence Henderson with that hairstyle on "The Brady Bunch".

Flips too were a wonderful and famous hairstyle during the 60's and today also people tend to aquire this style in a different way. Now a days people have started to use the clip-in hair extensions and curl them up to add flips into them.

My older sister wore this style in the 60's. She would roll her hair with frozen orange juice cans.

Oh, all I wanted was the right hair so I could have a "flip" - I loved it! But I had hair that was too wavy and curly - I tried everything to straighten and smooth it into a flip, the but the washboard ripples soon showed up and ruined the look. Oh to have straight hair, I thought then!
