On November 26,1959..WNEW TV Ch.5 in NYC aired "The First Wonderama Thanksgiving Day Party"..Sonny Fox would engage his studio audience and his viewers in games,craft making, stories,informational segments and performances from his guests: "The Amazing Randi" and folk singer Pat Woodell in-between reruns of old movie cartoons.

November 26,1959:  CBS TV aired the very first "CBS TV All American Thanksgiving Day Parade Jubilee!".  Every year, CBS TV aired four different parades from different locales: the Gimbels Parade from Philly, Pa; the Macy's Parade from NYC; the J. L. Hudson Parade from Detroit, Mi; the Eaton's Santa Claus Parade from Toronto, Canada (years later the Eaton's Santa Claus Parade was replaced by the Hawaiian Floral Parade from Honolulu).  "Captain Kangaroo", Peter Graves, "Kukla Fran & Ollie", the Bil Baird Puppets, Bob Barker and William Conrad mc the parade broadcasts.

November 22,1960:  WPIX-TV Ch.11 in NYC airs the very first "Thanksgiving Day Jamboree!".  From 1960 to 1962 and again from 1965 to 1970, "Officer"/"Police Chief" Joe Bolton, "Captain" Jack McCarthy, and Ms. Carol Corbett host a Thanksgiving party for a group of kids from St. Barnabas House (a NYC-based foster home) and for their viewers, where they engage everyone in games, song, stories, craft making,  hobbies, drawing lessons, and introduce reruns of cartoons and "The Three Stooges" film comedy "Back To The Woods".  At the end of the show, everyone sits down to a turkey dinner.
